Sentimentos do Oporto starts with the sunrise at the beach of Angeiras. It’s quite, you can only hear the sea. The sunrise will be showed as a time laps with different following images of the sunrise. After the sunrise, the fishing boats are coming back from their fishing trip. They get pulled upon the beach and the fish gets loaded off immediately. They give the boxes with the fishes to their women. The women go to the lodge with the fish and start selecting the good fish out of the bad ones. Afterwards the fish goes immediately to the fish market where they start washing and cleaning the fish to display and sell it.

When it’s noon, we go directly to the Douro Valley area. In the Douro Valley are the vineyards situated where the grapes are grown that are used for the making of the port wine. The river Douro goes in between all kinds of different vineyards which rise up against the mountains. All kinds of vines will be showed from up close. Because it’s too early, there won’t be any grapes yet, but there are people working on the fields.

After the vineyards in the Douro Valley, the port wine goes to Vila Nova de Gaia to the wine cellars. In the past it was brought by typical port wine boats. They went to Vila Nova de Gaia through the river Douro. We see this way to Vila Nova de Gaia on the Douro. When we arrive at Vila Nova de Gaia it’s late afternoon. All the lodges are situated next to each other next to the river Douro. You can also see the old port wine boats on the Douro. In the cellars we find the further process of the port wine. The wine is resting in all kinds of different barrels in the cellars for several years. After visiting the cellars, people are tasting the port wine in the tasting room.

From the cellars at Vila Nova de Gaia we walk to Porto over the Ponte Dom Luis I bridge. You can see the river Douro underneath the bridge and the Ribeira and the city itself from up the bridge. The bridge is an iron arch bridge designed by a Belgian (Théophile Seyrig), who was an associate of Gustave Eiffel. You can see clearly a connection between this bridge and the Eiffel Tower.

After crossing the Ponte Dom Luis I bridge, we’re led into the historic old part of Porto next to the Ribeira and Praça do Infante Dom Henrique. Afterwards we go through Rua das Flores and Rua de Santa Catarina and go to Torre dos Clérigos and São Bento. In the middle of the square of Aliados in the center, an uncooked fish and a port wine bottle are to be found on a little table, ready for an evening meal at sunset.
