É o segundo animal mais rápido da terra. E vive em comunhão com o homem. Na Antiguidade, foi companheiro de caça dos Deuses Gregos. Na Idade Média, foi levado à beira da extinção e salvo pela aristocracia, que sempre apreciou o animal com invulgar interesse. Talvez o segredo dessa atração inegável esteja no seu porte, elegante e firme, desenhado com uma simetria e
uma dignidade impressionantes. Mas, debaixo de tudo isso, está um animal nascido para correr.
Estas imagens nascem de um fascínio pela estrutura e inteligência do Galgo, e uma curiosidade enorme pelos homens e mulheres que cuidam deles, trabalhando durante anos com vista a criar um atleta de alta competição.
Sendo em Portugal as corridas de Galgos um desporto amador, o que ganha o tratador com esta relação? O único ganho genuíno apenas pode ser a relação que constrói com o animal, e o orgulho pelas capacidades do mesmo.
E então, à relação histórica entre homem e animal, junta-se a relação humana entre ambos.
Uma relação de dicotomia inerente, mas, ao mesmo tempo, de profunda cumplicidade, um companheirismo silencioso entre o corredor e o seu tratador.

Perhaps the secret of this undeniable attraction is in its size, elegant and firm, designed with symmetry and an impressive dignity. But above all it is an animal born to run.
These images are born from a fascination with structure and intelligence of the Greyhound, and
a great curiosity by the men and women who care for them, working for years in order to create
a highly competitive athlete. In Portugal, Greyhound racing is an amateur sport, so, what does the coach win with this sport? The only gain can only be a genuine relationship that builds with the animal, and pride in its capacities.
An historical relationship between man and animal. A relation of dichotomy but at the same time, deep complicity, a silent companionship between the runner and its coach.
