Actualmente a banalização da imagem, consequente do fácil acesso a meios que permitem a sua reprodução, leva a que a incessante procura da perfeição técnica seja entendida como prioridade na tentativa de combater essa realidade. Esta necessidade de controlo absoluto acaba por, muitas vezes, limitar os autores na criação de imagens que não sejam baseadas numa representação sublime do real.
“NIHILITY” surge da necessidade de libertação criativa. Através da experimentação como método de livre criação e transformação da imagem, não obedece a qualquer tipo de limitação na busca de novas possibilidades representativas. Utiliza a moda como forma de servir a sua criação, sendo assim contextualizado na área em questão.
The current banalization of the image is a consequence brought by the easiness to have access to means which permit its reproduction. This situation causes an increasing search for technical perfection, something seen as a priority when attempting to fight this reality. This need to have absolute control often ends up limiting authors in their attempt of creating images that aren’t based in a pristine representation of reality.
“NIHILITY” spawns from the need for creative liberation. Through the use of experimentation as a method of free and unshackled creation and transformation of the image, it isn’t in any way limited in its search for new representative possibilities. It uses fashion as a way to serve its creation, which enables this project’s inclusion in that particular area.
