Com este trabalho fotográfico proponho uma reflexão, através do retrato, sobre a condição das mulheres na atualidade. Escolhi trabalhar com um grupo da aldeia de Oliveira em Marco de Canaveses. Este é o sítio onde moro e estas mulheres são minhas vizinhas desde dos meus três anos de idade. Apesar de não existir convívio entre mim e elas, o seu modo de vida despertou-me curiosidade. Estas mulheres nunca tiveram a oportunidade de ter uma profissão, e no entanto trabalham todos os dias a cuidar da família, da casa, dos animais, das hortas, de tudo.
Enquanto fui construindo os retratos com elas, nos recantos preferidos das suas casas, pude testemunhar que são pessoas generosas, que encaram a vida de forma positiva e trabalham com satisfação.

With this photographic project I propose a reflection, through the portrait, on the status of women today. I chose to work with a group from the village of Oliveira in Marco de Canaveses, because it is the place where I live and these women are my neighbors since my three years old. Although there is no interaction between me and them, I was curious about their way of living. These women never had the opportunity to have a profession, and yet work every day to take care of the family, the house, the animals, the gardens, everything.
While I was constructing the pictures with them in the preferred places of their homes, I could testify they are generous people who view life positively and work with satisfaction.
