“Búzio” é um projeto desenvolvido para a unidade curricular de Projeto, da Licenciatura em Multimédia, que se apresenta na forma de curta-metragem de animação. Trata-se da adaptação do conto “Homero”, de Sophia de Mello Breyner, que narra uma breve memória de infância e tem como tema central um velho homem solitário e “louco” que aparecia a pedir esmola nas tardes de verão, numa vila junto à praia. A animação explora a magia contida nas palavras desse homem, vistas pelo olhar de uma criança. Búzio é um ser livre, que vive afastado do mundo dos homens e em comunhão com a natureza, cujos rituais e discursos ninguém entende. O desafio do projeto está na adaptação de uma obra literária para animação e na capacidade de traduzir em desenho as palavras, os ambientes e a complexidade do personagem, partindo das descrições da autora e da interpretação pessoal da obra, num filme que capte e sintetize o espírito presente neste conto.

“Búzio” is a project developed for the curricular unit of Project, of the Degree in Multimedia, which is presented in the form of an animated short film. It is an adaptation of the short story “Homero“, by Sophia de Mello Breyner, which narrates a brief childhood memory and has as its central theme an old lonely and “crazy” man who appeared to beg for alms on summer afternoons, in a village by the beach. The animation explores the magic contained in the words of this man, seen through the eyes of a child. Búzio is a free being, who lives away from the world of men and in communion with nature, whose rituals and speeches no one understands. The challenge of the project lies in the adaptation of a literary work into animation and in the ability to translate into drawings the words, the environments and the complexity of the character, based on the author’s descriptions and personal interpretation of the work, in a film that captures and synthesizes the spirit present in this tale.
